The Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic has built itself on the features of the original Scarlette OctoPre and brings you the ultimate Scarlett expansion. The OctoPre Dynamic features eight Scarlett 2nd generation microphone preamps alongside optional analogue compression on every channel input with a musical, soft-knee style of compression granting more subtle control of dynamics. The ‘More’ setting allows you to double the ratio for aggressive compression.

Focusrite Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic

The OctoPre Dynamic comes with eight channels featuring precision Focusrite A-D that will capture the clarity, honesty and transparency of your performance providing you have an ADAT output on your audio interface, eight channels of D-A get it back out via the balanced line outputs. The eight analogue outputs can either be sourced directly from the microphone preamps for live use or via the ADAT inputs to grant eight more analogue output channels from your DAW.

Two high-headroom inputs handle high output instruments such as guitars and bass’, just don’t forget to use a bit of compression to control the dynamics of basses and guitars. The Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic is perfect for expanding any high-quality, multi-channel recording systems. With high-headroom microphone, line and dual instrument inputs as well as analogue compression on every channel, ideal for drum tracking, guitars, keyboards, vocals and so much more.

ADAT is an easy way to bring extra channel inputs and outputs to your system via an optical cable. One optical cable can carry up to eight channels of audio. Just connect the ADAT output on the OctoPre to the ADAT input on your interface, set the clock source and sample rate, and you’re ready to get recording. ADAT I/O is available on plenty of Focusrite and third-party interfaces.
