The Korg Kaossilator 2S is a palm-sized synthesiser that allows you to create exciting loops, phrases, and beats using a sleek touchpad with over 150 built-in, pre-programmed sounds and is supplied with a copy of Ableton Live Lite so you can export your loops and beats into an intuitive DAW to create full songs. This compact, yet highly-advanced synthesiser is perfect for musicians, music producers, and DJs thanks to the broad range of sounds that can be used for backing beats, live performances, music productions, and creative DJ sets.

The Kaossilator 2S lets you play phrases and melodies with ease by merely stroking or tapping the touchpad with your fingers, the horizontal axis on the pad controls the notes and pitch of the instrument you’re playing while the vertical axis controls changes in tone such as filter cutoff, LFO rate, and distortion. You can efficiently perform fluent melodies even if you’re not a keyboard player thanks to the scale/key settings that allow you to play in a specific key without hitting any wrong notes while the note range function means you can change the performing range of an instrument in units of an octave. You can also perform unusual phrases that would be impractical to play on a keyboard while a built-in gate/arpeggiator automatically creates precise melodic phrases.
The integrated sound engine offers 150 sounds for you to utilise in your tracks and includes instruments such as standard synthesiser leads, synthesised basses, acoustic sounds like pianos and guitars, rhythm loops with full drum kits as well as single note drum hits, and sound FX which can all be utilised to meet the needs of any style of music. There is also a built-in microphone as well as a microphone input 3.5mm jack for recording external audio sources like vocals, instruments, and foley sounds, so when you’re out and about and inspiration strikes you can get in the groove and create beats.
An integrated loop recorder allows you to layer your loops and instrument melodies as many times as you’d like; the multi-track recording function means you can continuously overdub your loops, so it’s super-easy to create full tracks. An undo/redo function lets you re-record as much as you’d like just in case you accidentally make a mistake and need to go back to re-record.
Once you’re happy with what you’re recording the Master Record function allows you to record and save your performances directly into the Kaossilator 2S as a WAV file which can then be exported into Ableton Live in a multi-track format, which means each overdubbed instrument is exported separately, or in a two-channel mix format, which means overdubbed tracks are mixed together. The Kaossilator 2S is powered via four AA batteries and features an integrated speaker that allows you to play anytime and anywhere.
