The sE Electronics Voodoo ribbon microphones mark a new era for ribbon microphone technology. The Voodoo VR1 is a passive ribbon microphone that brings out the bite and edge from your guitar cabs with without the muddy highs.

sE Electronics Voodoo VR1

Until the Voodoo series, the only ribbon microphone in the world that picks up 20Hz – 20kHz was the sE Electronics collaboration with Rupert Neve, the RNR1. The full frequency range is achieved by using state-of-the-art custom made transformers and a Rupert Neve designed circuit that reveals the high frequencies that are normally absent.

The Voodoo microphones deliver a full frequency response by using an intelligent mechanical device that was designed by Siwei Zou (sE’s CEO) as well as a hand-tensioned ribbon that was constructed by sE Electronic’s specialised technicians in sE’s capsule room. The result is a well-detailed, clear and natural recording of instruments and guitar cabs. The Voodoo’s versatile performance abilities, coupled with its unique look, have made this microphone a secret weapon for thousands of players and producers worldwide.
