The Yamaha MG10 is a 10-channel record mixing desk that comes equipped with plenty of professional features including 1-knob compression, extensive EQ controls for each channel, combo XLR/Jack inputs, pad attenuation, a high-pass filter, and +48v phantom power. The MG10 provides sound engineers with the purest sound possible and does not process or colour the sound, fully embracing the philosophy of transparent sound and delivers a level of sonic excellence that is unmatched in a mixer of this calibre. This desk is perfect for bands and music producers, small music venues, schools and colleges, theatres, clubs and bars, and churches.

Everything you do as a producer depends on the quality of your preamps, which determines which direction your overall mix will take. That is why this mixing desk is equipped with discrete studio-grade Class-A D-pre preamps that make use of an inverted Darlington circuit that is comprised of two cascading transistors inside of a configuration that offers more power and lower impedance. The preamps deliver a fat bass response alongside smooth high frequencies and very low distortion as well as an impressively broad frequency range that can handle any signal from any audio source with having to over-amplify any specific elements of the sound. Having such a pure sonic platform to build upon means you do not need to save the mix with excessive EQ or additional effects processing.

Each channel is equipped with +48v phantom power allowing you to take full advantage of the broader frequency response and the high-quality sound of condenser microphones. Each channel also features a PAD attenuation switch that will accept microphone to line level inputs and works to attenuate high-input signals that are often accompanied by mic’ed instruments during your performances and completely avoids clipping that could potentially affect your mix.

Compression plays an essential role when recording just about any audio source and works to alter the level of dynamics and is useful when you need livelier guitars, a punchier bass response, tighter drum hits, or cleaner vocals. However it can take years to master the art of compression and use it effectively, but thanks to the addition of Yamaha’s infamous 1-knob compression controls you can have optimised compression settings right at your fingertips via a single rotary control. For managing your frequencies, this mixer is equipped with 3-band equalisers on every channel giving you unprecedented, super-precise control over your sound while a high-pass filter eliminates unwanted low-frequency noises from your mix for a smoother overall sound.

For expanding your sound setup and incorporating your own effects processors, there is an auxiliary send/return channel which can also work to send sounds to a monitoring system or external recording devices. The mixer is fitted with four combo XLR/Jack connectors as well as three stereo (six mono) Jack line inputs so you can input a wide range of various audio sources while an easy-to-read LED level meter allows you to easily view when you’re overloading the mixer with too loud a signal which could potentially cause distortion and problems in your mixdown.

The MG10 is a mixer that has been built to last and features a super-robust, impact-resistant, powder coated metal chassis giving you an unrivaled level of durability and has a sleek design that looks professional and concise and is contoured for optimal convection cooling. The internal circuitry layout separates the power supply from the analogue circuitry which works to give superior noise reduction and further ensures a reliable performance while the controls on top of the unit diverts impact and pressure on the knobs to the chassis itself and not the circuit board or components underneath.
